Are materials included in the cost of the class?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All materials are included in the cost of the class. For portfolio classes, students may be asked to being in past or current work from home to work on during the class, but no additional materials need to be purchased. The fee for models for any figure drawing session is also covered in the class tuition.

Question 2

What if my child has to miss a class?

We cannot offer makeup classes at this time, as each class is different and covering different material. We are also not able to offer refunds for missed classes. Your child's teacher will do all they can to make sure your child is caught up when they return to class.

Question 3

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

We understand that sometimes things come up that make it no longer possible for your child to attend class with us. But we ask that you also understand that late cancellations mean we are unlikely to be able to fill the space in the class, but have already made arrangements for staff and materials.

*This is a NEW policy, going into effect November 18, 2025*

You have two options for cancellation:
1. Receive a Credit (Amount paid - a 10% cancellation fee) up to 48 hours prior to the start of class.

2. Receive a Refund (Amount paid - a 10% cancellation fee) up to 4 weeks prior to the start of class.

You are also always welcome to sell your spot to someone else, we just ask that you let us know in advance who will be taking your spot.
No credits or refunds will be given after a class starts. No refunds will be given less than 4 weeks prior to the start of class. No credits will be given less than 48 hours prior to the start of class.

Credit with us does not expire and will be automatically applied to your next registration with us. Credit Is valid for any future child or adult class, workshop, or camp.

Please note that we only offer full (100%) refunds for a class if WE cancel the class. We are also unable to offer refunds or credits for days or classes missed for any reason.

If your child misses more than 2 days of classes due to illness, however, please reach out so that we can put together a take home kit of art materials for the classes your child has missed.

Question 4

Do you offer refunds or makeups for missed classes?

We ask that you check your schedule carefully prior to booking a class with us, as we cannot offer refunds for missed classes (unless we cancel the class). We do not have the ability to offer makeups classes for 6th-12th grade classes at this time as the classes are covering different material.

If your child misses more than 2 days of classes due to illness, however, please reach out so that we can put together a take home kit of art materials for the classes your child has missed.

Do you offer discounts or scholarships?

We fundamentally believe that people of all ages deserve access to high quality arts programming. If you or your child would like to attend one of our classes but cannot for financial reasons, please contact us at info@theartannexbrooklyn.com.

We also offer a refer-a-friend credit! For every friend you refer to The Art Annex who registers for a class, we'll add a $20 credit to your account as a thank you. Just make sure your friend writes your name in the "how did you hear about us" section when they register. There is no limit to the number of friend credit you can earn, and credit with us does not expire.
